Start with the answers below. If Trod is still giving you trouble, email ajruli.omar@gmail.com.

What is Trod?

Trod is a city discovery app for Android. Walking clears clouds from the map. The places you reveal become part of a personal Atlas with city progress, walked places, travel memories, and optional social features.

Does Trod work everywhere?

Cloud reveal works wherever Trod can load the online map and get a usable location signal. Supported cities add exact progress and richer place content. Local discovery supply varies by city.

Do I need an account?

No. You can begin as a guest. Create an account when you want account backup, friends, Circles, and progress that can follow you to another device.

Why does Trod need precise location?

Precise location lets Trod reveal the small area around the place where you actually walked. Approximate location is too broad for that mechanic.

Do I have to allow step counting?

No. Step counting is optional. Location reveals the map even when step permission is off.

Can Trod keep revealing with the screen off?

Yes, on Android when walking mode is on and precise location is allowed. A visible, ongoing notification stays on while walking mode runs. Turn walking mode off to stop it.

What can friends see?

The Friends > Privacy screen in your installed version is the source of truth. Friends do not receive your live location, reveal timestamps, a route playback, or private My Places.

How do I stop sharing?

Open Friends, tap Privacy, and turn off the sharing controls you do not want.

Does Trod upload my walking route?

The map-reveal service does not upload raw walking fixes or a timestamped route. It turns location fixes into small map-area identifiers on the phone and syncs those areas for signed-in progress. Saving a place or submitting a community gem sends the exact point you chose. Weather uses rounded coordinates.

How do I delete my account?

Open You > Settings > Delete account. This deletes the account and account-linked progress. Approved community gems may remain public without the reporter link. The public delete-account page also provides a contact route.

Is Trod available on iPhone?

Not yet. Trod is currently available on Android. No iPhone release date has been announced.

Can Trod replace a navigation or safety app?

No. Trod is for exploration. Map and place data can be incomplete or wrong. Use an appropriate navigation or emergency service when you need one, and pay attention to signs, access rules, traffic, weather, and local conditions.
